Creepy Christmas farm

Last week the kids and I drove down to the area that Bryn works to go to a Christmas farm that had a drive through light display and other areas that were suppose to be decked out for Christmas. Let's just say that it isn't what I thought it would be. The drive through lights were a semi circle driveway, and while they had a lot of stuff set up to see it was also very creepy. There were mannequins everywhere in the decorations and let's just face it... That is creepy. 

I mean, I know we can't be the only ones who find that mannequin elf incredibly creepy. And there were tons all around. 

Oh you know just an old barn filled with old crap with a mannequin behind the counter. What in the world?! At this point I was legit freaked out. 

There were some farm animals.

They did have two Clydesdales which that alone was worth the trip!! They were so giant and pretty!! 

Nutcracker

On Saturday we took the kids downtown to a childrens Nutcracker. It was at a theatre but the actual show took place in a random open area of the theatre. It was perfect for little ones because you are up close and personal, the ballerinas brushed Ella's shoulders every time they walked by and she was loving being right next to them! A local ballet company just did excerpts from their full version of the Nutcracker and the entire show was only 45 minutes. Like I said it was perfect for 3-5 year olds! And the best part was it was totally free! Can't beat that! 

 

The nutcracker came out and Ella screamed "mooooom take a picture!!!!" 

After the show you could meet and take pictures with the ballerinas, Kade had no interest but Ella beelined it towards the Nutcracker. 

Gingerbread masterpieces

We spent our Friday evening at home. We grilled steaks, listened to Christmas music, and decorated gingerbread houses. It was a nice low key night at home!

Family Pictures

Once a year I drag the fam out to have pictures done. They might moan and groan but I love having them done! This year was a 15 minute mini session and I was shocked that the photographer got more than one of all of us smiling and looking at the camera!

 

ICE!

We always go to the Gaylord during the Christmas season to look at the decorations, but this year was our first year to do ICE! I wanted to wait until the kids were old enough to enjoy it and not be miserable. We weren't sure what to expect but we ended up loving it! I for sure want to make it a yearly tradition. The theme this year was Frosty the snowman which was perfect because the kids had just watched the movie.
