2013 in Review!

Whew! 2013 was quite the year for our little family! We had some huge moments mixed in with a lot of little memories that are hands down my favorite part of our days, weeks, and years.

January
January is always our laziest, quietest month of the year. We spend the month getting back into our routine after the holiday craziness. And I love every bit of it.

February

Kade started his first season of soccer! And Bryan took a shot at his first (and probably last) season of coaching soccer :)

We also took a family trip to the zoo.

March

We dug in deep with our backyard remodel.

Braxton and Briley came for a visit over spring break!

April

This was a busy month for us!

We celebrated Easter at home!

We also spent 2 weeks in Europe visiting Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic! It was an AMAZING trip.

May

Kade wrapped up his year at FF Preschool!

And we said goodbye to cribs and hello to the big girl bed!

June

We took a weekend getaway to San Antonio to take the kids to Sea World.

Ella went to her first Ranger's game.

We spent almost every day at the pool!

July

We had a blast celebrating the 4th of July!

We found out the move to Maryland was official , listed our house, and were under contract in 4 days! It was a whirlwind!

Bryan and I spent the last part of the month house hunting in Maryland!

August

While this month is always our busiest, this particular August takes the cake.

We celebrated 6 years of marriage!

We spent a wonderful week at the beach with my family!

We said our goodbyes and started our new adventure in Maryland.

Kade turned 4!!

Ella Claire turned 2!!

And we closed on our old house in Texas, and two days later closed on our new house in Maryland.

That's a lot in one month!

September

The kids and I went apple picking.

We celebrated Bryan's birthday in Annapolis.

Kade started back to preschool and Ella had her first day of MDO!

October

Last minute, I made a trip home to celebrate Lauren and her sweet baby boys!

EC continued to LOVE ballet!

We made out first trip to the National Zoo.

My mom came to visit!! We went to Annapolis and New Castle, Delaware!

We also visited Mount Vernon.

And we had the best time celebrating Halloween!

November

We soaked up every last minute of Fall.

My mom made another visit and we celebrated Thanksgiving in Colonial Williamsburg!

We wrapped up our kitchen and living room remodel.

We also trimmed the tree!

December

We kicked off the Christmas season with a trip to NYC!

And we soaked up every last minute of the magic of the season with these two. We loved being back home and celebrating with family and seeing our friends. Everything about this Christmas season was magical and filled with so much JOY!

So bring it on 2014! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

Home for the Holidays

A lot of our family and friends back home have asked to see pictures of our new house. We are finally finished with the renovations so here ya go. This post will be a mish-mosh of before and afters of our renovations as well as pictures of our Christmas decorations!

This is the only picture I can find of the front of the house so ignore the pumpkins. We hated the way this house looked in pictures and we almost didn't even look at it! The brick/siding mix was a huge turn off to us. But once we pulled up it didn't bother us AT ALL! We actually really liked it!

This was our kitchen when we bought the house.

And after! We took down the overhang cabinets, painted everything white, and had an island built. I LOVE IT!

Another before

 And after!

All we did here was change out the light fixture.

After!

Keep in mind that the kids decorated the tree and I couldn't bring myself to change anything.

We didn't do anything in the dining room but I do have some plans for that light fixture.

Upstairs living room.

Little E's room. She has this antique looking girly wall paper that I initially thought I was going to take down. But I actually LOVE it and am not touching it!

Kade's room before

We painted it navy because we want to add wainscoting and crown molding after the first of the year.

This is from when we first moved in but our backyard is the number 1 thing we love about the house!

So there it is! Our humble abode! We both agree that if this house was close to family it would be our perfect house. It isn't anything special or fancy but it is comfy, cozy, and everything that we love in a home!
