Personal trainer

Yesterday after I picked up Kade from school we went down to the Trinity Trails so he could play and I could go for a run afterward. Kade didn't take a very good nap at school so I thought he might dose off during my run. I laid his seat back and pulled his sun shade all the way over him and I didn't hear a peep my entire run. Towards the end I was going up a hill and slowing down quite a bit when I hear, "come on, Mama!" I looked down and saw this:

He had been peeking out the back whole time I guess! He makes me laugh :) And who needs a personal trainer when I have him to cheer me on?!

Rockstar!

My sweet little girl has turned into an absolute rockstar sleeper, for the past three night as least. She has been going to bed from 8-9pm and sleeping until 6-7am. 10 HOURS. 10 HOURS!!! This is huge! I know she is still really little and that she will probably regress a little here and there but we are making such huge progress over here! I am a new person, and I have patience again. Hallelujah! So right now I am crossing all my fingers and toes that she does this again tonight! Thank you Ella for loving and needing sleep like the rest of your family :)

I am still trying to get a big smile on camera, I have gotten a few smirks but hopefully soon I will get her giant gummy grin. I mean seriously it is HUGE when she smiles :)

What do you think?

I'm thinking he would...

Swifty

Saturday night, Kristen, Hailey, Ashlyn, and myself went to go see Taylor Swift! I am a "closet" fan, or I guess I WAS a "closet" fan. Anytime I hear one of her songs on the radio, I turn it up and sing loudly. My mom and Lisa surprised us 4 girls with tickets and we were so EXCITED! We got all dressed up, cowboy boots on, and headed to the concert. We had AMAZING seats and VIP parking! We are SPOILED! The little girls loved it, but I think there is a really good possibility that Kristen and I sang and screamed louder than them :)  Her concert though was really really good, and Kristen and I both agree that she is flawlessly beautiful. Her face was plastered up on the GIANT screen at cowboys stadium and she didn't have one flaw, just BEAUTIFUL! Such a fun girls night!

I know I sure as heck wouldn't want my face blown up this big!

Look alikes?

From the time I first saw Ella she instantly reminded me of Kade. I think that as newborns they look SO MUCH ALIKE! There are times that they look nothing alike, but other times they look so much alike that it freaks Bryan and I out! I was looking through the pictures on my phone and I saw this one and it instantly reminded me of a picture of Kade. It is just from the side but their profiles are identical! At least I think so!

Kade at about 6 weeks.

Ella at about 6 weeks.

Sleep

Oh sleep....I miss you. As I am writing this I am running on about 5 hours of sleep (that I will add was broken up into a 3 hour stretch, a feeding, followed by another 2 hour stretch) and A LOT of coffee. I miss sleeping SO VERY MUCH. I vaguely remember this stage with Kade, but I do remember be tired. Ella really is a great sleeper for the most part and she has one really long stretch of sleep, but last night it started at 6:30. She slept from 6:30 -1:30 before waking up. That is 7 hours, and I know in the blink of an eye it will be a 12 hour stretch (fingers crossed!) Who can complain! But I can't go to sleep that early so I miss out on a lot of her "good" stretch of sleep and I am pooped. She thought it would be fun last night to have a little party after her feeding at 1:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 4.

Knowing how fast these babies grow and how fast time flies I will not wish for any stage to be over with, good or bad. I am soaking up every last second of Ella at the age because it goes by in a second, but it would be so nice to get 8 solid hours of sleep. I have a whole new respect for people (and myself) once they make it they make it through the newborn stage. Because honestly, it is without a doubt the hardest thing I have had to do to date.

And going through the newborn stage with a toddler? It's a whole new ballgame :)

So I am just trying to enjoy this sleep deprived, patience testing, crazy fun stage in my life with these two cuties, I mean seriously how cute are they?!?

Smiles

Yesterday, October 2, Ella girl smiled at me for the first time! I was talking to her and I could tell she wanted to and then she did! I got a big ol' gummy smile! Oh how I love these milestones, and they are just as wonderful the second time around! No pictures yet, but hopefully soon! I love this sweet girl!
