Celebrating 3 & 5!

On Saturday we had the kids birthday party! It is so crazy to me that I am celebrating a 5 and 3 year old, I feel like they are still tiny babies! Either way, we had a joint party at a local gym and the kids had the best time!

I keep thinking about it, but one year ago we were new to Maryland and celebrated the kids birthdays in a hotel room because we hadn't even closed on our house yet. And here we are a year later celebrating with all their friends they have made. These little friends and their moms have made our first year here pretty great, and we are so lucky that they all came out to celebrate Kade and Ella.

Frozen and Planes were the themes of choice. :)

Park time

We have had beautiful weather lately and we have spent so many mornings and afternoons at the park. Our favorite park is a few miles up the road and we have been trying to make the most of it since it closes for the season at the end of October!

This particular day we hiked around the lake some before stopping by the playground.

She was shouting "I'm a super hero!!!!"

EC mastered the rock wall :)

Bryan and I took the kids on another hike last Friday. Normally they are so good and love hiking but this time both were very whiney. We found out later it was because both were sick. Oops!

First Day of Pre K 4

Yesterday was Kade's last ever, first day of preschool. He is growing up so fast and I just wish I could hit the pause button. He is going to the same preschool and will be going three afternoons a week. I wasn't too excited about afternoon preschool for a while but two days in and I LOVE it, I wish I would have done this last year! I don't feel rushed in the mornings, and I get to spend all morning with both of my babies at home. I think this will be that hardest part of kinder next year, I really love our lazy mornings in our jammies with nothing to do. This will be our last year not tied to a school schedule and I am going to soak up every last bit of it.

I am so proud of this precious boy and I can't wait to watch him grow and learn this year!

His first day went great and he was so excited to see all of his friends and also meet new ones!

Little sister couldn't be left out of the picture taking. She was precious dropping Kade off, she was a little mama to him and making sure he got his backpack in the right spot and making sure he was okay before we left.

Last day of Summer

Summer has come and gone! It went by so fast, we had one of the best summers to date. I loved every second of it. It feels so good to be getting back into a routine though. Fall is so close I can taste it!

For our last day of summer I wanted to do something special with the kids. We will have plenty of time for fun field trips throughout the year since Kade will only be in school 3 afternoons a week but I still wanted to do something special today. We decided to head down to Solomons Island and visit the Calvert Marine Museum. Its been on my list for a while so we decided that today was perfect. I loved visiting this small museum and so did the kids, we were the only ones there for a while! It is so fun them taking places like this because I can just see them learning left and right, Kade is now to the age where he really questions everything and he was so funny asking the volunteer tons of questions about the stingrays, crabs, turtles, etc. He was so curious and I loved it! We had the best morning exploring all the exhibits and the lighthouse and to top it off we got to meet Bryan for lunch afterwards. It was the perfect way to wrap up summer.
