Halloweenie Roast

This past Saturday we went to our neighborhood's annual Halloweenie Roast at the park. It was our first year to attend and it was a lot of fun! There were hot dog's, games, candy, and a costume contest! Kade won the spookiest costume award for his age group. He was pretty proud of his certificate!

ARRRRRRGGGG Matey!

Can't forget about this cute ladybug!

Just a couple of random things about this picture. 1.) Bryan taught him how to climb the spiral thing and it scares me to death (Bryan was just outside of this picture, I don't let him get too far away.) And 2.) Kade calls it the slinky (makes sense right?) except in his two year old talk he pronounces it as the winky. So every time we are at the park he yells over and over to me or Bryan that he wants to climb the winky. It is embarrassing and oh so funny!

Gummy smiles

I caught Ella's gummy grins on camera! Overnight, she went from making me work REALLLLY hard to get a smile to basically smiling all the time when she is awake! I love her!

Pumpkin Patch

I LOVE October! I love the arrival of fall, cooler weather, fall decorations, pumpkin carving, college football, Halloween, and the PUMPKIN PATCH! In fact, I love it so much we went twice this year! Once as a family and once with our playgroup! We are having so much fun this fall!

I told Kade he could pick out a pumpkin for himself and Ella.

Here he is showing me his.

And here is the one he picked Ella...doesn't she look excited about it?!

Sweet Babies!

When we got home from our second trip to the pumkpin patch there was a package waiting at the front door from Meme and Gdad. It was full of Halloween goodies for Kade and Ella...including these awesome lips!
It has a been a very happy October indeed!

Cooking Conversations

Every single night since Bryan and I have been married,  I beg him to sit in the kitchen and talk to me while I am cooking. He always starts in there and then gets bored or hot and leaves to go in the other room. I ask him over and over to please come back and sit in there, but he says he gets too hot in our small kitchen. Our house was built in the 1930's so we don't have that open floor plan that new homes have. All our rooms are separate, and actually when we moved in there was a door to shut off the kitchen. Needless to say, that bad boy came off immediately. After 4 years of marriage I have given up on trying to make Bryan sit in there. It is a losing battle.

But these days I have some one else who wants to sit and have a conversation with me while I am cooking. Kade thinks he is so big that I let him sit at the bar. He loves it and we have so much fun "talking" and giggling. After several days of talking with me while cooking he was starting to get bored so I did what every good mother does and bribed him to stay with candy corn.

Yup, I gave my two year old candy 10 minutes before dinnertime just so he would stay and talk to me.

Mother of the Year?

I'd say so :)

Ahoy Matey!

Kade's Halloween costume came in and of course we had to try it on!

Better pictures to come!

Personal trainer

Yesterday after I picked up Kade from school we went down to the Trinity Trails so he could play and I could go for a run afterward. Kade didn't take a very good nap at school so I thought he might dose off during my run. I laid his seat back and pulled his sun shade all the way over him and I didn't hear a peep my entire run. Towards the end I was going up a hill and slowing down quite a bit when I hear, "come on, Mama!" I looked down and saw this:

He had been peeking out the back whole time I guess! He makes me laugh :) And who needs a personal trainer when I have him to cheer me on?!
