Parade of Lights

As Kade and Ella start to get older I want them to have familty traditions that they look forward to. We spend so much time with each of our families at Christmas (which we both LOVE) that it sometimes makes it hard to find time for our little family to have our own traditions. I want to have certain things that are just for us. To make memories as a family. This year I decided that a new family tradition would be going to the Parade of Lights. It is always the Friday after Thanksgiving and it is so much fun! It is a parade around downtown followed by the Christmas tree lighting. I bought us reserved seats this year which made it SO MUCH BETTER! We didn't have to get there so early to find a spot. Just walked up right before it started. Kade LOVED LOVE LOVED the parade. The look on his face when he saw the first float was so perfect. He was in awe and thought it was just the coolest thing ever. After the parade we went to dinner and then loaded up to go drive around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. There weren't too many up but it was so much fun! We let Kade sit in the front seat to look, which turned into him sitting in Bryan's lap to drive. He was cracking us up. Everytime Bryan would grab the wheel to help steer Kade would throw Bryan's hands off and say, "NO Daddy, I got it. Don't touch." Bryan and I were laughing to hard!

It was the perfect way to kick off our new tradition!
