Rainy Day Projects & a Bath

The weather here lately has been just disgusting. Hot, humid, and everyday we have had thunderstorms and tornado warnings. In the afternoon after Kade's nap, we love to go outside and play. But the past week he will wake up just in time for a bad thunderstorm! We have been trying to find some fun indoor activities to do. One day we made a bunny cake to take over to Nanny and Pappy's house for their Easter get together. Only problem was that Daddy couldn't stay away from it, and it never made it over there! Kade's favorite part of the baking process is licking the spoon/bowl.

 

Rainy day project #2 was finger painting. Kade liked this a lot more than I did. The set up/cleaning up process was A LOT more work and time that the painting process. He kept high-fiving the paper and would then laugh because it would leave his hand print :)  But in the end, we got a pretty great piece of refrigerator artwork out of it :)

Easter egg hunt # 2

This past week we went to Kalan's 2nd birthday party which was an Easter theme, complete with an egg hunt! Kade has the egg hunt down! He had his basket filled up so high that eventually he would spill some out bending over to pick up another egg, which he would then say "Oh no!" (my current favorite expression of his :) Here are a few pictures from the party!

 

All the kids had cute matching shirts on and we wanted a pictures of them all together...it was CHAOS!

More conversations..

Lately Kade has been talking like crazy. We have had more "conversations," and I LOVE it. He is so much fun right now! A little convo from this morning:

Kade- "Mama?" (His tone makes me know he is asking me a question)

Me- "what?"

Kade- "Daddy?" (holding his hands out in an I-don't-know "pose")

Me- "He is at work and won't be back until tonight."

Kade- "ohhh." (complete with a sad face.)

Me- "ya...Do you want some breakfast?"

Kade- "Bfest, bfest, mmmmmm!" runs to the refrigerator and pulls on the handle "EGGS!"

Two things I love about this, I knew exactly what he wanted for breakfast...No more guessing! And also how he went from so sad to so happy in a matter of seconds :)

I want to bottle him up and have him stay this age forever!

Ella Claire

Just an update on our little girl. We got the official confirmation today that Ella is still in fact Ella! He told me he was 100%, which is something he rarely says. I am confident now and I want to paint the room pink! Everything else from our anatomy scan went perfect. Everything measured out just perfect! She was moving all around and trying to suck her thumb just like her big brother. It was so exciting to see her!!

Beach

This past weekend we had a wedding in Rockport. We decided to make a little bit of time to take Kade to the beach. He had fun, but we left because I looked over and he was blue and purple and shaking. Poor thing was freezing! 

I didn't get any pictures from the wedding, but Kade loved the reception. He kept grabbing my mom and saying, "Nanny...dance." They were dance partners all night long!!

Easter Party

This morning Kade had his first Easter party. I was excited for him because this past weekend Meme taught him how to hunt eggs so I knew he was ready! We had a lot of fun, and Kade didn't want to leave. Which was clear with the giant tantrum he threw as we were leaving :)
