Grocery shopping

This was probably the most enjoyable grocery shopping trip I have had in about 9 months. Coincidently, Ella just turned nine months old :) Grocery shopping with both kids was way down on my "fun" list. Well, until this last trip. I put Ella in the car part with Kade and all I heard was sweet giggles! Both kids were soooooo good the entire time! Hopefully next week will be the same!

Floors!

Yesterday, about half of the wood floors were laid out! It made me so happy to walk through the front door and see them! Hopefully just another day of wood, two days of tile, and one day of carpet! It is unbelievable the change that has happened in two short (but also very long) weeks! I cant wait to do before and after pictures!

But for now, we are doing the happy dance at the sight of this:

Side note: Kade has become the king of photo bombing. Every time I pull my phone out to take a picture he runs in the middle of it and laughs so hard. So most of my pictures have him somewhere in the background!

Swim lessons

Kade started swim lessons last Monday! It is a two week class with lessons mon-thurs from 9-10. I have liked the class just ok. I probably won't sign him up here next summer. There is lots of playing and no real learning. I was hoping for a bit of structure. But Kade has fun so I guess at this age that is all that matters!

Paint by numbers

38- number of gallons of paint we have used this past week

4- number of nights I stayed past midnight to help finish painting

6- number of nights Bryan stayed past midnight to finish painting

1- number of walls we repainted after deciding it wasn't the right color

18- number of consecutive hours Bryan painted one day to finish all trim, doors and baseboards.

14- number of paint samples I purchased. Bryan told me I had become obsessed.

3- number of rooms that still need paint. But the floors aren't changing in these rooms, so we will do this after we move in.

It was a long week. I'm past the point of exhaustion. But we changed the look of the house with just paint! And the floors are being laid as we speak! Only several more days!

We moved.

Yup, it happened. We moved. Not too far but to a 'new' home. We bought our second fixer upper and the fun (read: exhaustion) hasn't stopped since. A little breakdown of our move...

We closed in old house a couple of weeks ago. We closed on the new house a week ago, and rented old house back for the time in between. So we get keys to new house Wednesday, spend a good 12-15 hours moving all of our things and somehow manage to store it all in the garage and sunroom of the new house. We have a lot of work to do before the new floors go in so we plan on starting immediately. Thursday night Bryan and I get food poisoning and were out of commission for a good 24 hours. Finally, Saturday the work began. And we have not stopped since. Every last inch of this house (trim, built ins, walls, etc) must be painted before the flooring starts monday. That means late nights of painting after the kids go to bed. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and will hopefully be all moved in in about a week and half. I'm sure my parents will be ready for us to get out of their hair. Can't even explain how much help they have been these past couple of weeks! Praise the lord for parents!

A few pictures of our life at the moment:
