Our day

Yesterday we had a great day. I love when things just go smoothly and everyone is in a good mood :) Days like this are few and far between so I have to eat up every minute because who knows what the next day will bring us :)

We started off with breakfast. Poptarts for Kade and English muffins for Ella and I!

Next up was a morning walk! It was chilly!!

Then we cleaned up the house and got ready to take Kade to swim lessons. One not so great thing happened on the way there. Dang my inspection sticker for being expired!

We made it to swim and Kade did great! And how sweet is Ella?! She wants to be out there sooooo bad and stares the entire time at the kids swimming.

We came home after swim for lunch and naps!

Ella decided to get a little reading in before her nap!

And then it is 12:30. The most glorious part of our day! Both kids nap! I don't answer my phone, my door, heck I normally don't even turn the tv on. I just enjoy the silence! I NEED this time of day. It rejuvenates me for the rest of the day!

Once the kids got up they immediately started playing with this giant diaper box. Kade said him, Ella, blue, and pinky were having a surprise birthday party (?) Who knows I was just happy they were playing nicely and together :)

Next up was soccer practice, then dinner, baths, and bed!

I love my days with my babies! Especially ones like this!

Entry way makeover

I realized going back through my blog that I never did official before and afters of our house! I just redid my entry way today and I love it! I never really liked it when I first put my stuff in there but it just sat for a while until I could think of something I wanted to do!

A little Annie Sloan painting of an old sofa table and moving a few things around and I feel like it is perfect and so my style! So here is my first before and after! Hopefully I can get the rest up soon!

Before: (ugly and just some stuff we had that "fit")

After!

And another:

It is perfect for what I wanted! And the totally cost was only about $35. Can't beat that!

Dentist

Kade and Ella had dentist appointments today. Kade has already been several time before so this is more about Ella. I had to document her first visit! She didn't like it too much but was wayyyyyyy better than I thought she would be. Both kids got a great report and Kade announced that he LOVED the dentist. What a strange kid :)

First soccer game

On Saturday, Kade had his first soccer game! He was great! It was a little chaotic but so so so cute to watch! Kade loved being right in the middle of everyone and wasn't afraid to chase the ball at all! I only took this picture beforehand bc I was filming the game and just trying to watch. So I will try to get pictures of him playing next week.

So proud of this little guy! And how cute is he in his soccer uniform!

Dallas Zoo

Last Friday, Bryan was off work so we loaded up and went to the Dallas Zoo! It was freezing so i was worried all the animals would be hiding, but that wasn't the case AT ALL! All the animals were out and super playful! Probably because they were trying to stay warm but it made it fun for us! And on top of that the zoo was basically empty. We had a great time!

This penguin was so funny! He was following Kade wherever he went!

I wanted a good picture before we went in, out of 5 this was the best...

Ella directed with the map for a while.

Our favorite giraffe, Tobago, wasn't out this day, but this giraffe was just as friendly!

Ella fed the giraffe herself and giggled SO hard!

I just love this boy! And this boy LOVES his binoculars!

Date night!

On Saturday, Bryan and I celebrated a late Valentine's day ALONE! We had several hours to do what ever we wanted! We stopped by and got him a new wedding ring. Long story but he jammed his finger playing basketball so his ring wouldn't fit for a while and now it is MIA so we just decided to get him a new one. Next up was sushi for dinner! Pretty much our usual for date nights!

As we were finishing dinner, Bryan suggested that we run to the book store to pick up some reading material as we try to plan our upcoming trip! I am SO excited!

And this is really unrelated to our date night, but is in relation to preparing for our upcoming trip. Nothing is set in stone yet but I am hoping we figure out all the little details soon! And I mean how cute is this passport picture?! Hands down the cutest I have ever seen !

Soccer practice: Take 2

We were NERVOUS about soccer practice this week given what happened last week. We talked and talked and talked and even bribed Kade to act nice and not cry at this weeks practice. Our expectations were looooow. But much to our surprised, he did GREAT! He was having a blast and listened to Bryan the entire time! At one point he was running full speed at the ball and tripped over one girl's feet. He face planted so I figured tears would be flowing but there weren't any! He hopped up quick to chase the ball some more!

We are so PROUD of this little guy! One more practice on Wednesday and then our first game on Saturday! Go Rangers!

Valentines day!

We had a great low key Valentines Day this year! Kade had school and Bryan was traveling back home from working out of town all week. Bryan and I waited until Saturday to celebrate together and spent the actual day with our two littlest lovsbugs!

We started our morning with pink, heart shaped pancakes!

Then we loaded up to take Kade to school! My sweet little Valentines!

Ella and I headed up to Kades school for his Valentine party!

I told Kade I had a big surprise for him at home. I couldn't wait for him to see!

This picture is deceiving, when he first walked in he asked where it was and continued to look all around for the big surprise. I guess he happened to miss all the balloons, candy, cupcakes, and little toys I had sitting out :)

Once Bryan made it home we all went out to eat! And as we were walking back to the car we passed an old school (but new) candy shop so we naturally had to stop in! It was a great night!

Museum!

These are from a while back, over Christmas break I believe! But I wanted to make sure they made it up here! We took Bryan to the museum for the first time and had a blast! The kids loved have Daddy there, and it reallllllllly helped me out having an extra set of hands!

Swim lessons

Last summer, Kade took swim lessons at our community pool. The entire two weeks was a big fat waste of our time. He literally didn't learn a single thing. But he had fun so I guess that is all that matters.

I decided that with summer in just a few months I wanted him in real lessons. So today he had his first class at Emler and he LOVED it. And I loved it. He learned more in his 30 minute class today than he did in two weeks last summer. I hope that by the end of the semester he has the basic skills to know what to do if he falls in the pool. That is my main goal. Just to swim to the side and pull himself out. And I want him to have fun in the process!

That smile was on his face the entire time!

Waiting to go down the big slide!

Afterwards, we were all happy so we went out for a celebratory lunch!
