This and that

This popped up on Timehop the other day. This was only a year ago and I can't get over how much Ella has changed!

My favorite skelly Halloween jams!!

Her hair is getting so long!

My favorite little fireman :)

Just helping each other out with their "chores".

4 more days until we tell them we are actually going to Disney and not just watching the planning DVD for kicks. :)

Silly sister picked out her outfit and hair choice before church, I think she has great taste. :)

Charles County Fair

Last weekend we went with Lauren and the girls to the fair! We love our local county fair. It's small and quant and there are lots of fun things to do. The kids were all about the rides but since they aren't cheap, those were limited. Haha!

Kade has been talking about riding the scrambler at the fair this year for a long time. I'm not sure where or how he learned about the scrambler but he was ready to ride it. So once we were at the fair that was our number one priority.

All ready for the scrambler! I could tell Kade was so nervous but he didn't want to back out! Bryan said he laughed the entire time and he said it was awesome!

I rode with Ella and to say she loved it would be an understatement. She went nuts and was screaming and laughing and having the best time ever. I wish we could have gone again and again but I'm fairly certain this one ride cost our family $16 total. Whoa!

I mean seriously... She went nuts!

We saw a baby chick hatch from his egg!! Kade sat and watched this little baby chick work so hard to break free. He would have stayed there all night watching the others if he was able to.

5 year well visit

I still can't believe Kade is 5 years old. That is so hard for me to wrap my head around. He had his well visit this week and he did awesome. He is 45 inches tall (90% percentile) and weighs 40lbs (50% percentile). He had 20/20 vision and the rest of the check up went perfectly. He was missing one vaccine that he will need to start kinder next year so even though I promised him there wouldn't be any shots, I was wrong. He cried when I told him and after that he was so brave! He barely cried at all getting the shot and couldn't wait to call Daddio to tell him all about it.

I'm so proud of my big 5 year old boy!

Urban pirates

We have had a groupon for a pirate cruise for a while now so last week we decided to use it. It was so fun! The kids were given pirate gear to dress up in and an official pirate name. We cruised around the inner harbor in Baltimore searching for the lost treasure that another pirate (I can't remember his name!) stole. The pirateson board were awesome and stayed in character the entire time. They lead the kids in games, dancing, and lots of other fun things. It was a really fun activity!!

Ella Enchanted and Kaptain Kade!

Bryan and I were also given some pirate vests as well. :)

This sweet girl was so cute in the car on the way home. She would randomly bust out with "we beat the bad guy and got all the treasure!"

Limbo time!

Spraying the cannons at the bad pirate!

Picking out two pieces of treasure. Kade picked out a gold coin and a special necklace that he picked just for me. Goodness gracious I love that mama's boy!

Birthday Interviews

I have had these sitting on the computer for a few weeks so it is time I finally get them up here. When Kade turned three I started asking him the same set of questions each year on his birthday, I love to see how his answers change from year to year. And since Ella turned three this year she got to join in on the fun! And just as a funny side note, I asked the kids the questions at the same time and I fully expected Ella to just repeat Kade's answers. But much to my surprise she didn't. In true Ella Claire fashion, she had her OWN thoughts and opinions. :)

Oxon Hill Children's Farm

This morning the kids and I took a spur of a moment trip to the Children's Farm. We have been wanting to go for a while so we spent a few hours there before school this morning. This farm was so neat! They kids milked cows, saw other farm animals, and  took a wagon ride. They could have fed the chickens but we had to leave for school. We were able to do all that and the best part was it was free! I love living near DC and all the free opportunities that are around!

The farm was gorgeous and I had to keep reminding myself we were right in the middle if the city, it was crazy to have this peaceful farm right next to the beltway, haha!

Kade told me he had been dreaming his whole life to milk a cow. Dream big little guy!

Ella just wanted to pet the cow.

The views from the wagon ride were beautiful!

September

September started off hot but we are cooling down a a fall is very much on te way! I am so excited for the best time of year!!

Bryan and I spent 8 straight hours (11 total) assembling the kids swingset on the hottest day of the year. Fun times.

The boys were out having a "guys night" so Ella and I had a girls night with popcorn and Beauty and the Beast.

Bryan has been giving Kade piano lessons and he is doing sooo well! He can play probably 5 or more songs. The other day I heard him in there playing and when I walked in he was giving Ella lessons. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

We have a lot of deer that trail through the backyard and this one wasn't moving. Him and Kade were having a major staring contest.
