Snow!

We finally got a decent snow storm last week! I took a bunch of pictures on my big camera that I need to add but for now these are from my phone.

Ella's little dreams came true when we gave in and said she could wear her Elsa dress in the snow for a little bit. I have so many pictures on my camera that I love and need to put in a seperate post. :)

Ella was just loving on Frosty. :)

Poor K just wanted to drink his juice in peace but Bryan wouldn't stop throwing snowballs. K found some protection behind Frosty.

We made the quick hike to the creek.

Valentines Date

Bryan and I got a date night for Valentines Day! Our sitters are busy girls so it's hard to snag one so I'm so happy we were finally able to! I love date nights with my man. We went to dinner in National Harbor and then went for a ride on the capital wheel. We had to keep it a secret from the kids, they would have been mad we rode without them. Haha!

I asked Kade to take our picture beforehand and him and Ella were hilarious. They took their job so serious. ;)

Ella thought it was so fun so she had to join in. :)

It was freezing. Like freeeeeeeeezing outside. I think it was in the teens with negative wind chills, the water in the harbor was frozen!! We were so cold!!

Baby #3!

Coming this August!! We are all so excited and can't wait to meet this little person who will complete our family!

A few things to remember about this third little one...

• This has easily been the hardest pregnancy thus far. The sickness and exhaustion have done me in. I'm 14 weeks and keep waiting for those things to subside, any day now I hope! Come on second trimester energy!

• I feel like this pregnancy is going to fly by. In August we will celebrate our anniversary, Kade's 6th birthday, Ella's 4th birthday, Kade will start kindergarten, and Ella will start preschool. Somewhere in the midst of all that we will welcome this baby. Get ready Baby 3 and welcome to the craziness! Haha!

• The kids are really, really excited. Especially Kade because he really understands the idea of the entire thing. He has been saying a lot of things like "when our baby is here" and "we need to get this and that for our baby" I love that he keeps saying "our baby".. It totally melts me. :)

• Kade wants a brother, but doesn't have any name suggestions. Ella wants a sister and if it's a boy she says she wants him named Number 2 and if it's a girl she wants to name her Number 5. We have no idea, but I thinks it's so funny!

• We aren't finding out the gender with this one and we are so excited about it. We are just excited about the anticipation of finding out on delivery day and most importantly just want a healthy baby. Adding either to the family would be like icing on the cake.

Our weekend

This weekend we had a semi warm up and it was so nice! As much as I'm looking forward to spring, I know we have several more really cold weeks ahead. I'm still loving the cold cuddly mornings in my bed with Kade and Ella. It's been my favorite thing about this season. It was however nice to get outside and soak up some Vitamin D on Sunday!

Bryan had been talking all week about how he was going to take Ella on a breakfast date to get donuts on Saturday. So Kade and I had our own date, he picked Cracker Barrel. It's his favorite restaurant!

Watching figure skating with my favorite girl :)

This was on Timehop the other day and it made my day!

We turned around at Costco and saw these guys just taking a little nap :)

I want to squeeze this baby girl again! And kiss those cheeks!

My tulips make me happy :)

Slumber party

A few weekends ago the kids had their first slumber party! They were beyond excited and put themselves to bed at 6:30!! Bryan and I camped right outside the door for a long time listening to them. It was hilarious!! They might have "gone to bed" at 6:30, but no one fell asleep until around 10:00 when we finally went in and said enough is enough and it was time for bed. These guys are too much fun!

February

I can't believe it's already February! January is a long month for me but it went by in a flash!!

Ella asked me to take her picture and send it to Bryan before school last week. :)

Baseball day at school! He said he wanted to wear his Ranger's gear but has outgrown it all. So then he decided on the O's and I had to say he looked adorable :)

Ella drew a self portrait. She said "and here are my eyes, and mouth. Oh and this is my hair bow." I love that my southern girl included a bow!

We played outside all day yesterday and Kade drew a race track with a finish line. I love, love, love little kid handwriting. I know over time he will write all his letters the right way but for now I hope he keeps that S backwards for a little while longer. :)

Snow day!

Im afraid to say anything because it's only the begining of February but this winter has been really mild compared to last year. We have had a handful of days in the 50s and not nearly as much snow as last year. It's been pretty great! I love a good snow but last year the record low temps almost did me in! We have seen snow a few times this winter but it has a hard time sticking around for long. I am a-ok with that! We get the pretty snowfall, a fun morning of playing and then it's gone by the end of the day. That to me is the perfect snow day! We had one the other day and the kids and I played outside for nearly 2 hours, we had the best morning!!

We tried to make a big snow man but the snow was too fluffy and wouldn't really stick together, so we made a mini snowman. :)

Ella loves the snow this year. All I can say is hallelujah!!

It wasn't the best snow to sled in but he made it work!

We went on a walk and the kids gathered snow in the gator. Kade also said he wished his gator had a snow plow on the front. Bryan said he will have to fix something up for the dude. :)
