Little miss can't be left alone anymore. She is rolling everywhere.

Our dining room has become the Lego building room.

Late night movie one Saturday.

We thought we were beating the crowds to the grocery store before the blizzard. Haha, not the case at all!

Snowy days by the fire. :)

Blizzard 2016

Snowzilla.

The winter awakens.

Snowmagedden 2.0.

I heard more names than I can count for this storm, you call it whatever you want but it was a beast! This was the most snow I've ever seen fall at one time. On Friday the schools were closed, everyone was told to go home at lunch to avoid getting stuck at rush hour, and the governor declared a state of emergency in advance of the storm. Honestly I was a little scared! We hunkered down with enough food and water to last us through the weekend and the first part of this week. Right around lunch time on Friday the snow started to fall. And it fell and fell and fell and it didn't stop once for 36 hours! Friday night the winds picked up and progressively got worse through Saturday but thankfully we didn't lose power!

The last part of the storm was the craziest. The snow was falling like crazy and the wind was whipping it around everywhere. We went out multiple times on Saturday to check out the snow and to play. Bryan worked his tail off the entire weekend! He spent so much time on Saturday shoveling snow and trying to stay on top of things. I was so thankful because I saw pictures of people's  cars and driveways who didn't stay on top of it and whoa! I bet they are still trying to dig out! On Sunday we had clear and sunny skies and 25 inches of snow on the ground! It's funny because when I look out in the backyard I think it doesn't look that different from other storms we have had but then I go walk in the snow and it goes nearly to my knees!

We had a great time being cooped up and staying at home but by Monday night I needed out!! Kade is still off school today and I've heard that there is a good chance of at least a delay tomorrow.  I've enjoyed having him home but it is now time to get back to normal! Now that we have had a big snowstorm I think I will happily say that I am over winter and ready for spring. However I know we have another  good month or two until that happens!

Kade was getting his chores done before it started to snow!

Warming her tootsies by the fire :)

After we got a few inches on Friday we went out to sled a little.

Friday night... 5 inches down and only 20
more to go.

We woke up Saturday and I want to say we had about a foot of snow at this point.

That afternoon Ella and I walked down the street to check out the neighborhood.

The snow was getting so deep!!

The plows came down the streets multiple times throughout the weekend!

We would probably still be snowed in if it weren't for this guy right here!

Hattie bear went out a few times.

We are also thankful for our neighbor and his snow blower!!

Mike and Kade built a snow fort!

This girl's first snowstorm just so happened to be a historic blizzard for the east coast!

The snow plow piles are so big!!

And then I had to screen shot this webpage from a local meteorologist. This truly was the snow of our lives! I am certain we will never see this much snow fall at one time again. Blizzard 2016 was one for the record books!
