Random Facts..

Kade does the absolute funniest things lately. He has me laughing all throughout the day and I LOVE that his little (BIG!) personality is showing!I have been meaning to write these things down for awhile, but I kept putting it off. I had an entire lists of things I wanted to write and now I can only think of two! Better that than nothing I suppose!

1. Kade has always been scared of the vacuum cleaner. I remember him being about 5 months old sitting in his jumper, and I was vacuuming the living room not really paying attention to him. When I was finished and turn the vacuum off I looked over and he had his arms in the air doing the "silent" cry. Any mom knows the silent cry is by far the worst, they are either really hurt or really scared! Poor little man was scared out of his mind and I didn't even notice! I starting only vacuuming after he went to bed or when Bryan was home so he could take care of him. But about a week ago I go a new vacuum that is absolutely fabulous and I have been using it like crazy. I decided K was old enough to get past his fear so I plugged the vacuum in and started going. Kade initially cried, I was yelling it was OK, then he ran and got his baseball bat followed me around the house and beat the vacuum with it any chance he got! It made me laugh so hard and I am so happy that Kade is learning to cope with his silly fear! Even is that means beating up my brand new vacuum!! What a silly boy!

2. Kade's vocabulary is growing on a daily basis and he can now try to repeat a lot of works back to you if you ask him to. At his 18 month check up there were pictures of dinosaurs on the wall. he pointed to them and asked "thissssss" I told him dinosaur and asked if he could say that and it came out something like this, "di" loooong pause "SOW!" It was precious an became my new favorite word of his! We practiced all day and it kept coming out the same way, I couldn't wait to show Bryan. Later that night Bryan came home and Kade said it on cue! We LOVE it!! A few nights later I was putting his jammies on there was a dinosaur on his shirt. This one to be exact:

So before I put it on I held it up and told Kade look a dinosaur! I was hoping I would hear my favorite word.. Kade looked at the shirt, looked at me, then looked back at the shirt again and yelled RAFFE! (Giraffe!) It made me laugh, but what can I say. He thinks the long skinny neck means Giraffe (or just Raffe!)  What a funny little guy!

Seasame Street LIVE!

We took Kade for his very first trip to see Sesame Street Live! My parents like to take the grand kids and make it kind of like there "thing," but for Kade's first trip Bryan and I had to take him. It was a lot of fun and Kade was initially scared but once they brought out the big guy (Elmo) all was well and Kade enjoyed the whole show! Bryan and I actually enjoyed it as well, it is so fun to watch Kade having fun. We were a little taken back by the cost though! Parking was ridiculous, and the souvenirs were way too much (although Kade did end up with an Elmo flashlight thing.) They were even selling balloons for $10 a piece! ONE BALLOON FOR $10!! Good thing Kade is scared of balloons! The best part for me though was right at the beginning of the show. They start bring all the characters out one by one. They are all dancing on stage, the tots are getting excited but still on the edge of their seats, and then after a big build up they bring Elmo out front and center. The crowd goes WILD, the tots are screaming, yelling, saying ELMO! at the top of their lungs! It was like they had seen the biggest rock star of their life! It was the cutest thing ever! Next time I will let Nanny and Pappy take him, but I as so happy to be able to go with him the first time!

Zoo

A few weeks ago Kade and , along with a few friends headed out to the Forth Worth Zoo for a day of FUN! I have been wanting to take Kade for a lot of time, but I am really happy that I waited until now to take him. I think he actually understood what was going on. He has been really into animals lately and goes crazy if he sees one on TV or in a book. (His personal faves are ducks and elephants:) I still think he might have more fun if he was a little bit older where he actually knew what all the animals were, he did spend a lot of the day wanting to push the stroller around. There were a few animals that he enjoyed watching more than others. When I picked him up to see the monkeys he laughed and didn't want down. On the other hand when I picked him up to see the kangaroos, he took a quick look and said "DONE!" I guess they were a little boring to him! All in all it was a great day, we always have fun with Mindy, Brody, Allie, and Emerson. The weather was beautiful, and I hope that we go back really soon!

This picture is scary to me!

Crazy, crazy snow

Even though it was much more like crazy, crazy ICE! One of the first weeks of February we had this crazy snow/ice storm. I usually like the occasional snow storm we get here because it is once maybe twice a year and it is just a nice break from the normal (hot) weather here. But this storm just about did me in. We were snowed/iced in for FOUR days. And I just can't handle that! By the last day we were STIR CRAZY! We did break out one of the days to meet Allie and Emerson at McDonald's for breakfast and playing. The temperature never really got out of the lows 20's for several days so I didn't let Kade play outside in the snow too much. But for a few minutes at a time we would go out and play around, and Kade really loved it. Every time we came back inside, HUGE meltdowns happened :)

Valentine's Day!

I LOVE celebrating holidays now that we have our sweet little boy to share them with. I think I planned on what I should get Kade for Valentine's day for months. A little ridiculous I know, but it is just so much fun!! I made him a basket and filled it with all sorts of goodies, including several hot wheels, crayons, a coloring book, and several other books! I had it ready and waiting for him when he woke up and he was very excited!!

Stephens 4.0

BIG NEWS!!! Kade is going be a BIG BROTHER sometime around September 8th! We are so excited about our fourth little family member. We found out over Christmas break, but waited until my first Dr appointment to share the news. I am 13 weeks today and I am FINALLY starting to feel better. When I was pregnant with Kade, I only had the occasional exhaustion, but really I felt great the entire pregnancy. This one has been quite a bit different. On top of the OVER THE TOP exhaustion, I have been so so so nauseous. I haven't been throwing up, but many days I think about not throwing up all day. I am hoping that since I am out of my first trimester I will be feeling better. We shall see! I have had one sonogram at my first appointment, and everything looked great! Hopefully I will scan them so I can share them soon! In the meantime, look at our BIG BOY!

New Computer!

I have been waiting for our new computer to come in, and it finally did last week! This means LOTS of blog catching up to do! I have a lot of new fun post to share and will probably be back blogging a little to catch up on what all I have missed!
