Ella Claire- 2 months

Last Thursday Ella turned 2 months old! I can't believe it has been two months since we went from a family of 3 to a family of 4! Ella is becoming more and more alert every day and such a happy baby! She started smiling right around 7 weeks and little girl is all smiles ALL THE TIME! I love it! She is so happy and it melts my heart when she sees me, her face softens, and she starts smiling like crazy! I love that she knows and loves her mama! She is a super laid back baby and just likes hang out on her play mat, in someone's arms, or in her swing.  She is still a rockstar sleeper. She first slept through the night at 6 weeks.  And for the next two weeks she was sleeping through the night about 80% of the time. Only randomly waking up some night for a 4am feeding. But now she is pretty consistently sleeping 11-12 hours a night and I am LOVING IT! But who wouldn't? Around 7 we start bathtime, then after bath it is a little snuggle time and a bottle and she is usually in bed by 7:30, sometimes closer to 8. Then right before we Bryan and I go to bed around 10pm we give her one more bottle, and then not a peep until about 7-7:30am! (We realized that giving her a bottle right before we go to bed completely eliminated that 4am feeding.) And on top of that we are finally swaddle free! It only took one rough night and that was all, which resulted in several scratches on her face (you can see in the pictures). But so much easier than I was expecting, have I said before that Ella is a an easy baby?! She is still a great eater, I think she was going through a growth spurt last week because she was eating every 2 hours and it was exhausting because I felt like I was feeding her all day long! But now back to normal and she is eating 6oz every 3-4 hours. We had her 2 month appt last week and Dr. Mercer said she was perfect, which we already knew :)

Love

Lots to catch up on, but not enough time. I didn't want to forget to put this picture up. Kade is starting to show a lot of interest in Ella lately and it makes me so happy. Yesterday, we were out running all sorts of errands and anytime someone said "Hi" or waved to Kade, he responded with "Hi! This is Ella and she is my sister!" It made me so happy! I have been drilling that into his head since we found out we were having a girl, so I guess he is finally grasping the concept.

I am so blessed that I get to spend me days with these adorable kids. 

Twins

I have written before about how I think that Ella and Kade look so much alike, and this probably won't be the last time. I took this picture of Ella yesterday and was reminded of one I took of Kade when he was an infant. It is crazy how much they look alike, yet I also see such distinct differences. I love these precious babies!

Halloweenie Roast

This past Saturday we went to our neighborhood's annual Halloweenie Roast at the park. It was our first year to attend and it was a lot of fun! There were hot dog's, games, candy, and a costume contest! Kade won the spookiest costume award for his age group. He was pretty proud of his certificate!

Just a couple of random things about this picture. 1.) Bryan taught him how to climb the spiral thing and it scares me to death (Bryan was just outside of this picture, I don't let him get too far away.) And 2.) Kade calls it the slinky (makes sense right?) except in his two year old talk he pronounces it as the winky. So every time we are at the park he yells over and over to me or Bryan that he wants to climb the winky. It is embarrassing and oh so funny!

Gummy smiles

I caught Ella's gummy grins on camera! Overnight, she went from making me work REALLLLY hard to get a smile to basically smiling all the time when she is awake! I love her!

Pumpkin Patch

I LOVE October! I love the arrival of fall, cooler weather, fall decorations, pumpkin carving, college football, Halloween, and the PUMPKIN PATCH! In fact, I love it so much we went twice this year! Once as a family and once with our playgroup! We are having so much fun this fall!

I told Kade he could pick out a pumpkin for himself and Ella.

Sweet Babies!

 

When we got home from our second trip to the pumkpin patch there was a package waiting at the front door from Meme and Gdad. It was full of Halloween goodies for Kade and Ella...including these awesome lips!

It has a been a very happy October indeed!
