Disney on Ice!

Last week we took the kids downtown to see Disney on Ice. I bought the tickets months ago and naturally the day of the show a huge snow storm was suppose to come through town. Words like "blizzard" and "snowmageddon" were being thrown around on the news but after looking at when it was suppose to hit we decided we would go and at least stay for half, check the weather and just go from there. We took the train in and my biggest fear was the metro closing down and we wouldn't be able to get back to our car!

We made it, bought overly expensive popcorn and watched the first half of the show. I thought the show was fantastic! Kade loved it but being my more reserved child he just sat back and smiled while he watched. Ella on the other hand went nuts! She was yelling and screaming at every character, she was dancing (like big time dancing), she was cheering and clapping for all the characters. She was a flat out HOOT to watch. We were so happy that we decided to go! The kids said they loved it! At intermission we decided to go check outside and sure enough the roads were already coated with snow, so we we decided to pack up and leave. I am sooooo happy we left when we did, our drive home was scary! I was a nervous wreck. But we made it home safely and we were just so happy that we didn't have to waste out tickets!

The storm hit two hours early so the roads were already slightly covered when we got back to the car!!

Daddy/Daughter Pancake Breakfast

Our church held a pancake breakfast for Dad's and Daughters so of course Bryan had to take his little lady! She thought it was so fun and was really excited about the entire thing!!

Ella Claire goes to the dentist.

The kids had dentist appointments the other day. Kade has already been a few times but this was Ella's first official visit! She was scheduled for a cleaning and I had very little hope. But that little girl surprises me all the time and sat through the enter thing. And not only that she was EXCITED about it!

Heart cakes, board games, and tea parties.

The other day Kade and I decided to make the heart cake that I've seen all over Pinterest. It was super easy, and a fun activity to do with my boy while little sister napped!

We have also been playing a lot of board games lately!

Ella has realllllly been in to tea parties lately. We have multiple "tea parties" throughout the day. I decided one night to make some real tea and have a real "tea party". Ella didn't like the tea but she thought this was soooo fun!

She added A LOT of sugar. But if you look next to the cup, you can see not all of it made it to the cup. :)

Not a fancy tea party by any means but she didn't know the difference!

She loves to cheers!

A tiny little spill warranted being nakey the rest of the time :)

Cabin Fever

I'm not going to lie, January was a looooong month. We had days upon days of wind chills hovering at or below zero with a total of maybe 6-8 inches of snow over the course of the month. We couldn't hardly walk outside because it was just so COLD. I felt like we were never going to get above freezing but we finally did once we hitt February. A funny side story, the first day it warmed up a little Kade asked if we were going to eat lunch outside because it was such a beautiful day. I checked on my phone and it was 38 degrees out. Out perspectives have changed just a little after our freezing cold January!

We have been trying to get out of the house and find ways to burn off energy. But there is only so much you can do!

Miguel stopped through town and we were all SOO happy!!!

Snow, Snow, Snow!

Last night we had more snow!! The snow from the week before hadn't completely melted before everything was covered in a fresh blanket of snow. I don't know why but this was the prettiest snow fall to date. It covered every branch of every tree in the back yard. When the sun came up this more, I literally gasped because it was just so beautiful! I grabbed my camera and ran out to grab a few shots before the wind blew the snow around!

SNOW Week!

On Tuesday we had a huge snow storm come through the area! It snowed hard all day long. Some places near us got 7-8 inches but I think we ended up with closer to 4 inches. We have been outside to play some but it has been SO cold! We have barely made it in the 20s but the wind chills have been hovering right around zero! I love snow and I love cold but today we have to get out and burn off some energy, being cooped up most of the week is really causing some cabin fever!
