Rehoboth Beach

We took another weekend trip to Delaware in July to spend a few days at the beach. It was a little chilly and the waves were crazy but that didn't stop us from having a great time!

 

The waves were INSANE.

 

Monticello and Lurray Caverns

The four of us have had so much fun taking day adventures.  We have SOOOO much at our fingertips and I can't imagine not seeing as much as possible. Typically on Friday night Bryan and I talk about how we are wanting to do something new so we pull out a list we have made and go from there. I love that he loves adventures as much as I do! The kids love them as well, they get so excited to load up for an adventure. I love what all they are learning along the way.

One Saturday in July we headed two hours west in Virginia to Monticello, the estate of Thomas Jefferson. The history was amazing and the views were unbelievable. We took a tour of the house and spent the morning exploring the grounds. I would say this is a must do! The drive itself to Monticello was worth the trip, farm after farm of gorgeous old colonial estates. I was in heaven!

Once we tour Monticello we loaded up in the car and drove another 45 minutes to Lurray Caverns. The kids had been patiently waiting all day for this. They were so excited to go into a cave, and it didn't disappoint!

Summer fun!

Our summer has been fast and furious! We had have a BLAST! Trips, weekend adventures, swim lessons, VBS, week longs visits from family...we have been anything but bored. I seriously can't believe it is already August. 

Frozen on the big screen one night when Hailey was in town.

 

One day when H was in town I took the kids to tour Ford's Theater and then to the American History museum. We had a great time but by the time we got back in the car we were all hot and exhausted!

 

On Hailey's last day she begged to go back to the beach, how could we say no?!

 

These two took swim lessons and both did awesome!

 

I loved watching Ella listen and learn from her instructor.

 

This kid is full on swimming on his own!

 

I just wanted one picture and Ella was shaking her "hiney bo" at me instead. 

 

They did a week of VBS at their school. They LOVED it! And I loved my 3 hour break each day :)

 

One of my favorite things about this summer has been the fireflies! We have hundreds that come out at sunset and they have loved chasing them around and catching them.
