DIY Farmhouse Table

Several years ago, my inlaws were in town and I threw out the idea of Bryan and my father in law building me a toy box. I drew out what I wanted and by the time my inlaws left on Sunday this toybox was made and it looked EXACTLY like the picture I drew out.

I knew both men were handy, but I don't think they knew what was in store for them from then on out! I have come up with tons of projects for them to do :) Luckily, they like doing that kind of stuff and don't complain! Over Christmas, they were in town and I finally got my farmhouse table that I have been wanting for YEARS!

I have always known that I wanted a Farmhouse table for my dining room. But I didn't want to pay the price for the one I drooled over in Pottery Barn. One night while browsing Pinterest (of course!) I came across this Pin and I knew that this was something my husband and father in law could do! My parents had just given us their old dining set and Bryan said the top was the only thing they would need to build! And I have to say, it turned out better than I could have ever expected!

I am in LOVE with my new/old dining table!

We stained the top a dark stain and painted the legs and chairs with Annie Sloan's Paris Grey.

And the finished product!! It turned out perfect!

For the chairs, we just recovered the seats with this Khaki colored fabric. It totally compliments the paint and the stain!

The total cost for this project was around $120. And that is leaving us with paint and stain left over to use for something else. I love "re-inventing" furniture!
